Conservatively Speaking

State Senator Mary Lazich (R-New Berlin) represents parts of four counties: Milwaukee, Waukesha, Racine, and Walworth. Her Senate District 28 includes New Berlin, Franklin, Greendale, Hales Corners, Muskego, Waterford, Big Bend, the town of Vernon and parts of Greenfield, East Troy, and Mukwonago. Senator Lazich has been in the Legislature for more than a decade. She considers herself a tireless crusader for lower taxes, reduced spending and smaller government.

Miserable Leadership From Democrats

Possibly the biggest indicator of President Obama’s failed economic leadership is this: Americans are more miserable now than at any point in nearly 30 years.

The misery index combines the inflation and unemployment rates to gauge difficulties facing the American people.  The last time the misery index was 13.0, as it is now, was during 1983.

President Obama and Democrats have not demonstrated ideas about turning around the economy.  Republicans in Wisconsin are demonstrating an ability to turn around the economy.  By balancing the state’s budget, we send a clear signal to businesses that Wisconsin is a predictable place to do business.  Structural reforms to state government’s relationship with Wisconsin’s economic growth are creating new avenues to pursue job creation.  The state’s unemployment rate of 7.8 percent needs to improve, however it is better than the national average.

The misery index under the leadership of President Obama and Democrats at Washington DC leaves a lot to be desired.
