Remembering Sally Marks

The West Allis Players joins the local theater community in mourning the death of Sally Marks.

Sally, a gracious lady in her 80s who appeared decades younger, worked in community theater for many years. She graced our West Allis stage in 2009, appearing in "A Murder is Announced." I was honored to share that stage with her and had the theatrical responsibility of killing her every night.

While chatting backstage, Sally told us she was a child actor (unfortunately, I don't know the name she used back then) and appeared in a number of films before she turned 10. She was able to track down every movie she ever made and acted with many prominent stars of the 1930s.

We would like to extend our heartfelt sympathies to her husband and family. She was a wonderful actress and a beautiful person.
