Our children's theater series begins this Sunday, December 8, with the enchanted classic, "Sleeping Beauty." Almost all girls dream of being princesses at one time or another and both girls and boys will thrill to this adaptation for the Brothers Grimm story. Our Children's Series' shows feature adult actors presenting for children -- not children on stage.

When a wicked fairy is not invited to the christening of the King and Queen's infant daughter, she crashes the party and delivers her own "gift" -- a curse that someday this girl will prick her finger on a spindle and die. Although another good fairy is able to modify this curse -- that she will sleep until awakened by a king's son -- the king and queen do everything in their power to keep her safe and away from the dangerous needles. When the princess, now a young woman, is tricked by the evil fairy and does touch a spindle, the audience is cheering for a prince to rescue her.

Please note: This show will be presented at WEST ALLIS CENTRAL AUDITORIUM, not our usual venue at Nathan Hale High School. The address for Central Auditorium is 8516 W. Lincoln Avenue. Ticket prices are $5 for adults and $4 for children. Show time is 2 p.m.

There are three shows in this year's series. The next production, "The Sorcerer's Apprentice" will be presented on January 19 and "Cowboy Camp" part of Sunset Playhouse's Bug in a Rug series, will be on stage on February 9 (this show returns to Nathan Hale High School -- more details later.)

Please consider bringing your children to our Children's Series. Each show last about an hour and even if they are too young to fully understand the stories, they will be entertained with the color and movement on stage. This is a fantastic introduction to live theater for your children -- and for adults as well!!!
