West Allis police make 'The Club' available to other car owners, too

Aug. 13, 2011

A limited supply of "The Club" anti-theft devices is now available to all West Allis residents, regardless of what kind of vehicle they own, for a fee.

Over the past few weeks, the West Allis Police Department has pursued its "20 percent by 2012" campaign by distributing "The Club" anti-auto theft device, free of charge, to West Allis owners of vehicles heavily targeted by thieves.

Hundreds of West Allis residents have taken advantage of a police initiative.

While the expanded initiative is not free for other car owners, "The Club" can be purchased for $13 anytime from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. weekdays at the West Allis Police Department's Crime Prevention Bureau, 11301 W. Lincoln Ave.

More information is available at (414) 302-8050.

The "20 percent by 2012" campaign is an effort to reduce car thefts by 20 percent by the end of this year.
