Green Bay Packers wide receiver James Jones will come to the Walmart Supercenter in Greenfield on Jan. 7 to promote the second Defeat Hunger Bowl food drive.
Jones will be at the Greenfield store, 10600 W. Layton Ave., from 10 to 11 a.m. Jan. 7. Fans will have the chance to meet him and receive a special edition signed photo-card of the star receiver.
'As a child, there were a lot of days when my family and I didn't have any food to eat,' Jones said in a news release announcing the food drive. 'So I know first-hand how important this campaign is and the difference even one item of food can make in someone's life.'
Walmart, Sam's Club and Feeding America-member food banks in Wisconsin will hold the drive from Jan. 8 through Feb. 9.
Beginning Jan. 8, nonperishable food can be dropped off at 91 participating Walmart stores and 12 Sam's Club locations throughout Wisconsin, with all donations benefiting local Feeding America food banks.
