Greenfield police report: August 21, 2014 issue

 Someone stole $320 from a home in the 9000 block of West Waterford Square during the day on Aug. 11. The victim stated she came home from work and found the money was missing.


 A resident called police after she came home and found her home was rummaged through and a baby monitor and about $10 in cash was stolen Aug. 12. Someone kicked in a door on the attached garage to gain entry to the residence.


 A man reported his bicycle was stolen from his residence/garage in the 4300 block of South 60th Street at 1:15 p.m. Aug. 13.


 A resident in the 3100 block of West Alvina Avenue reported his daughter’s boyfriend broke into his residence and stole a laptop computer, an iPad mini, an Xbox system, an impact drill, 22 pairs of jeans and 37 shirts, and also caused damage at about 5:25 p.m. Aug. 13. The investigation is ongoing.




 A resident reported someone rummaged through her vehicle and stole a box of diapers on Aug. 10 or Aug. 11.


 A resident called police to report someone stole an engagement ring, a cordless drill with battery and accessories, a Milwaukee M18 drill set, a Sawzall, a Motorola cell phone and $500 cash from his locked truck parked in the 8900 block of West Waterford Square at 9:05 a.m. Aug. 11. Entry to the truck was gained by breaking a window.


 A GPS unit was stolen from an unlocked vehicle parked in the 9000 block of West Waterford Square on Aug. 10 and Aug. 11.


 A credit card and an engine management programmer was stolen from a vehicle parked in the 8800 block of West Howard Avenue between Aug. 10 and Aug. 11.


 A woman called police to report her silver Apple Mac was stolen from her vehicle parked at Pick ’n Save, 4279 S. 76th St., at about 6:45 p.m. Aug. 11.


 A security employee reported a woman concealed baby clothes, socks and perfume at TJ Maxx, 4200 S. 76th St., and then fled in a gold vehicle driven by an unknown male when confronted by security at about 6:50 p.m. Aug. 11. Police located the vehicle at Cousins on South 51st Street and West Howard Avenue, arrested both suspects for shoplifting, and took the woman into custody on a Glendale Police Department warrant.


 A woman reported her purse was stolen in the parking lot at Target, 4777 S. 27th St., at about 8:25 p.m. Aug. 11.


 A resident reported two roofing guns, gold jewelry and about $300 in cash was stolen from his home in the 10500 block of West Beloit Road at 2:45 p.m. Aug. 16.


 An employee at Corner Club, 4309 W. Grange Ave., reported a patron’s wallet was stolen out of her purse and the suspect was still at the bar at 1:30 a.m. Aug. 17. The incident was captured on video surveillance and police took the suspect into custody for theft.


Drug Possession


 A man was arrested for possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia after he was found passed out inside his vehicle at BP Gas, 4405 W. Loomis Road, at about 2:30 a.m. Aug. 14.


Drunken Driving


Police responding to a report of a man vomiting outside his vehicle in the 4100 block of South 43rd Street arrested the man for drunken driving (second offense) at about 11:15 p.m. Aug. 12. He was taken to the hospital for a blood draw, the results of which were unavailable.


 A man was arrested for drunken driving after a motorist reported he was driving recklessly, hit a median on West Loomis Road and West Layton Ave., and then stumbled out of his car in the parking lot at Aldi’s at about 8:15 p.m. Aug. 13. He refused chemical breath testing and was taken into custody.
