Nathan Hale Booster Club Names Blandino Scholarship Award Winners

The Nathan Hale High School Athletic Booster Club is proud to announce the 2010 Blandino Scholarship Award recipients. This award recognizes the student athletes for their academic achievements, their leadership in student & athletic activities as well as sportsmanship, school spirit, character and good citizenship. Each of these Senior Student-Athletes will be awarded a $500 Scholarship from the organization.


Scholarship winners are: Benjamin Koeppen, Julia Eckert, Courtney Mielke, Ajay Sreekanth and Eric Schrader.


The Blandino Scholarship Award is named after Mary Blandino, whose 30 plus years of teaching and coaching at West Allis Nathan Hale High School included four state volleyball championships, eleven state tournament appearances and twelve conference championships. Mary coached volleyball for 34 years, track for fourteen years and gymnastics for seventeen years at Nathan Hale High School in West Allis. Multiple conference championships were earned in each sport. She was the 2002 Wisconsin Volleyball Coach of the Year and is a member of the Wisconsin Volleyball Coaches Hall of Fame as well as the Wisconsin Senior Olympic Hall of Fame.
